From the Vault: Me and Chris @crsoner on some random afternoon in the 90’s. Who’s place was this? #tbt #realcamera #nikonF #oldschoolselfie
When you live in LA it’s not weird to have this happen in someone’s backyard. Oh, hey magical bird. What’s up? Want some gluten free bread?
Well, I just had the week of a lifetime. My deepest gratitude to @outfest for screening my short film FAST and programming some of the most amazing and inspiring movies I’ve seen in a long time. If that wasn’t enough…I also got married to the most supportive and beautiful woman. I couldn’t have this abundant life without her help. This week has helped me see that I can have it all. Thank you to every single person who helped make these two beautiful productions come to life. I love you all. Now I need a nap. Seriously. A long nap.
So I married an amazing and beautiful human yesterday Erin Vesey @airbear90 in my mothers veil from 1969 by my dear friend @rebelwithapen Dare Bear. My awesome cousin Edie @ediechud took this awesome pic!! It was a beautiful day with friends and family. ❤️
Next Saturday - FAST - on the big screen for @outfest film festival. Can you believe how utterly GORG my cast is? I mean…who knows how to cast ‘em? I DO!! #outfestla #outfest #undernyumbrella

In 2002 I lived in Echo Park and had 3 dogs that I walked regularly. On one of my walks a guy pulled up in his car and said “I want to photograph you” I was like “Yeah AND” and he pulled out a business card and said “this is my company” the card said American Apparel. I had one of their T-shirts at home. Then he offered me $500. The man was Dov Charney. When I went to be photographed at their downtown office he was literally chasing his secretary around his desk. Then after the shoot I went on a tour of the factory. There was so much good he was doing for the rights of workers and migrant workers. Sometimes I feel like passionate people that get amazing things done don’t know how to turn off that passion. I feel like Dov is one of those people. This photo is from that shoot. I feel lucky to have been an American Apparel girl way before it was cool. I’m also glad that my best look EVER was also captured. All good things must come to an end. #FBF
This is for all my healthy foodies out there @heavymetalkitchen @nobetchno @yesbetchyes @sheabop Keep it Green!!
This is my father David Vesey in the early 80’s and he was hands down the coolest and funniest guy you will ever meet. That’s where I get it from. See that jacket? Those shoes? See how he’s in front of the crowd? He gave me the city of New York, Harold and Maude, and the Beastie Boys and a million other examples of brilliant movies and music to mold me into the walking dark comedy I have become. His staggering talent as a photographer and genius mind didn’t always make him the warmest guy but it made him an example that continues to inspire my work to this day. Even to this day 9 years after his death he is still on that pedestal that we put really cool dads on. Every time I would leave his house he would say to me “but I’ll miss you most of all Scarecrow” from the Wizard of Oz. I miss him so.
This is my step father Steven and myself taken in 1994. He was the third man my mother married after my father left when I was one years old. Even though he was only 23 when my mom married him he stepped up as the best father I ever had. He was kind and cared for me deeply. He always told me how much he loved me and that I was his daughter. He taught me the secret to making great pancakes, made me feel REALLY cool at a time when I was so not by riding me around on his motorcycle and he taught me that a real man doesn’t forget about their children even when they get divorced from their mother. Even after he and my mom split he was my dad. Steven died when he was 37 years old. He was healthy and beautiful and there was no reason for this except that it was god’s will. I can believe it’s been 20 years. My love for him has never faded and unfortunately neither has the pain of his loss. Step Dad’s who step up deserve their own day. I miss him so.
At the @outfest #Ease Pool Party with Shannon Logan and Jen Kennedy @avocat_mgmt #outfest #outfestla (All dressed up!!)
